Whenever I am in the area, I def love to stop by to eat the Chifa, that's the only dish I enjoy. It's very flavorful. It is definitely homestyle, friendly environment. I also enjoy the selection of red wine from Chile with my meal. The service I went last time was only so-so, but I like how the owner remembers me.

OK little neighborhood Peruvian place. I only had the ceviche, which was fair, not one of the better versions that I have tried in this city. They have a wood burning oven so it would be interesting to try some of the items that were coming out of it. They didn't have any white wine (and they are serving seafood?) only red and peruvian beer.

YUMM DELICIOSO! Random hidden find on the recommendation of my Peruvian friend. Love this place! Small just like you are in a kitchen in Peru...swear there is just 1 cook so it took a some time, but it was all fresh! The ceviche mixto was sooo great & fresh...didn't even get sick LOL. The yuca w/that cheese sauce was great & not over fried. And the merengue dessert (not sure what it is called) was soo lite and tasty! I can't wait to go back & have the pumpkin donut (forgot what they call these too) and that green spaghetti w/steak...omg both looked outstanding! Probably one of the best places to eat in NoMi...kind of a rough area!

If the world ended tomorrow and I could save a few things, after saving my family Peruvian Kitchen would be next in line. This place is OH-SO-GOOD. I thought I didn't like Ceviche until I tried it there. Then we had this Peruvian chicken fried rice and it was absolutely fantastic. It's everything I like - small, unpretentious and has awesome food. Really loved it.

Super cute and authentic!! The food was delicious and the service was outstanding! We were greeted with a smile and treated like family during our time there. Can't wait to go back!!

Nice place, but food is hit and miss, some days food is fantastic and others is dry and flavorless, specially the Chaufa de Pollo. It's a shame because We found ourselves looking for other Peruvian restaurants in the area !!! Step up Peruvian Kitchen !!!

WATCH OUT FOR 18% TIP BEING ADDED TO CHECK. I have been here 4 times now and the service is getting progressively worse. They bring you the food and never check back to see if all is well or do you want anything more. Had to ask for more water even though I was the only person there and they were walking all around me cleaning up. Now, tonight I noticed, for the first time, the tip added. When I asked the girl, she said she always adds it. Maybe I have been missing it, but I don't think so. I ask if it was printed on the menu or was there a sign somewhere . She said no. I got 5% service, not 18%. I hope the owner reads this because I would like a response.

Delicious food! Tastefull! Great staff! We got the tiraditos and the choclo and cheese for apetizer, All very good. As mais course, I ordered the chufa de camarones. A fryed rice with shrimp, peruvian style. Very good.

The first time I came here was to try their Pollo a la Brasa a la leña. It was not available since we came at 1:40pm and it had run out. So intrigued I came back from Miami to try it and very early to get the fresh chicken out. I bought a whole chicken with fries and salad. Disappointed is an understatement. The chicken tasted from yesterday, dry and oily. Nothing like the ones I tried from Peru. What I am guessing is that the chicken was not ready and they just warmed up what was left over from the day before. Very cheap on their part or the chef. The establishment can contact me if they have any questions. I believe if I come early, I should get fresh chicken.

This place was delishious!! We were trying to find An authentic, non- food chain, mom and pop type place to eat in Miami. The staff was really nice especially because we didn't speak Spanish. They were very helpful in helping us choose from the menu even though they didn't speak much English. Good portion was good. Wish they have same restaurant where we lived. Definitely would come back when we come back to Miami. Small place but away from all the crazy traffic in South Beach MIAMI. Also the price is super reasonable and affordable and cheap lol

  • Aline O.

Not my best experience with Peruvian food. The chicken was somewhat ok but the sides didn't please me. I didn't like the service, even though the food was prepared really fast. We order a sparkling water and it was completely flat when I told the waiter about it she simply said it is saying it's sparkling on the bootle. Well, it did say but it was flat. She could easily got us another or take it out of the check. I'm not hard to please when it comes to most types of cuisine and I simply love Peruvian food however I did not like this place for it. But considering other reviews I might give it another chance.

  • Mirian S.

I used to come here quite frequently. But I have noticed that their portions to go are getting smaller and smaller. Just spent $52 and the ceviche was a joke. It looked like an appetizer. Bye Peruvian Kitchen. It wAs good while it lasted.

Took my girlfriend the other night bc it is so close by. The food was excellent, service typical of miami. Worth it for the food, we had Lomo saltado & the ceviche de pescado, & picarones for dessert. We'll be going back in the future for sure, definitely worth a try.

  • Bry C.

Typical hole in the wall spot. Never would have thought to come here if it weren't for my Peruvian girlfriend. The food was very good I had the Lomo Saltado and it was delicious. Service was decent and the food came out pretty fast. They have a great variety of traditional Peruvian entrees, appetizers, and drinks.

I walked in and saw Christmas/ New Years decorations hanging from the ceiling and no toilet paper in the bathroom. I ordered water that never got refilled, but was delighted by the rotisserie chicken here. If you're going to come here for great service I highly discourage it, but the chicken is worth the disappointment.

  • Staci B.

Followed the reviews to this place for an amazing ceviche and fried rice. Hole in the wall but worth checking out!

    (4)
  • Michael P.

A little hole in the wall that is so great and affordable , go here frequently and it is not upscale like other Peruvian places so if you feel lazy this is the place because it is just as good as the other places, the rotisserie chicken is so moist and seasoned and the fries are so fresh it is a very good hidden gem.

So much yummy food, went years ago and didn't have a good vibe from the staff must of been a bad day but I went about 3 months ago and the lady that served us was the sweetest. The food is so good

Yummy! I love Peruvian food, and I was tired of the bland over-priced food at my hotel. I had my favorite dish chupe des camarones. It was delicious and perfect for a rainy day in Miami. The waitress warned me that it was very rich, and it was, just the way I like it with plenty of shrimp in a creamy chowder base. The staff was so friendly. I wish I had found this earlier in my stay and would definitely come back again. Next time I might even skip my favorite chupe for something I can eat their spicy green sauce on, like a grilled chicken breast or roasted chicken. My friends who aren't familiar with Peruvian food were also happy with their meals. It was an easy pace for someone on a paleo diet to find something healthy to eat.

  • Debbie D.

Loved the food and the very friendly service. Definitely would go back. We had the ceviche and chicken soup. The ceviche was so fresh and a nice size serving.

  • Nicole D.

So far the best Peruvian restaurant to eat tallarines verdes and picarones ! Amazing! In the other hand their ceviche was very plain, not all that.

    (4)
  • Yam P.

I ordered arroz con mariscos and ceviche for my office of about 50 people. Needless to say everyone loved it and had nothing but good things to say. The portions were great for the price and a large group (it was more than enough). I really enjoyed the service; nice, fast, and personable. Recommend!

    (5)
  • Rachel Y.

Incredible find! Tiny restaurant with 9 tables and authentic Peruvian food! Must try ANY ceviche and please don't waste the leche de tigre.... Drink it all!! Great service (limited English), but friendly attitude and genuine care for their customers. VERY generous portions and cheap pricing. Alfajor dessert is a perfect ending and just the right size for a petite dessert.

  • Elvia M.

Just ok, I been to better places. We order the.chaufa de pollo, lomo saltado, ceviche de pescado, anticuchos, and papa a la huncaina. The.huncaina sauce needs some work. The chaufa was delish. The lomo was overpriced for.the portion. If I am in the area I would stop in again.

Have passed by this restaurant so many times on my way to work, finally stopped in a couple of weeks ago, Awesome!! The food is absolutely delicious!! The restaurant is small but cozy and everyone was very friendly, definitely coming back!

  • Lucy S.

Giving it one star is giving it too much, first off the place is hideous it looks dirty and clearly it is... I ordered a tajarin saltado only to find a sorta resembling pube hair and confronting the waitress she says it's not her staffs.... I'm sorry, because now my blonde long hair looks nappy and black?!? Gross... didn't even apologize nor discount, honestly even with the discount I wouldn't have came back! Stay away yikes

Went here for dinner with my wife. One of the top Peruvian restaurants I've been to, including places in NYC. Wife had the mixed seafood ceviche and I had the lomo saltado. We also shared sweet plantains. Everything was delicious.

    (5)
  • Cindy P.

After going out to eat with my foodie husband and his foodie best friend we found this place on yelp. The 3 of us shared fried rice, ceviche and jalea which is fried seafood. The portion sizes were generous and we all plan to return and send our family as well

  • G G.

Although this place doesn't look like much from the outside, the food here is amazing and the atmosphere is really nice. We weren't expecting much when we first came here and ended up being totally blown away. Final tip: try the pescado saltado, you won't regret it.

  • Leah V.

Where do i start?!? My boyfriend at the time wanted to take me to this place because it's near our house but one look at the place and i'm like..."NoOO sweetie! NOT for Valentine's Day!" It is totally a definition of 'a hole in a wall'. But when i finally tried it, it was AMAZING! We would sometimes go 2-3x a week! Would recommend Papa a la Huancaína and Ceviche as appetizers...and Tacu tacu con lomito, lomo saltado and Arroz con marisco are the regular dishes we get. We've gotten food here so often that the owner of the place knows us! Whenever we get visitors from out of town we would take them here. The staff is very helpful even though there is some language barrier.

  • Joe G.

Great food and great price with a good homey feel. Try the tallarines verdes with bread chicken and of course you can't go wrong with a lomo saltado. Very economically w/ good size portions and attentive service. Beats other mainstream Peruvian restaurants

The food was great, so tasty, delicious!! But the service was poor, we wait 45 minutes for a Jalea, Chaufa de Camarones and a Pescado a lo macho. We had to wait for everything, even for the check.

  • David C.

It is good - but far from great. It is very inexpensive - but when you are eating fish, that can be a bit scary. The place is in a very beat up strip mall and it can be a little sketchy at night. Plenty of parking around, just make sure it is in a well lit, traffic area. The good: ... the price ... it is easy and low key ... the soups are very taste ...the ceviche is large and pretty good (a little scared to think of where the fish came from) The not so good: ...Lomos Saltados - a bit boring and not that tasty ...2 bad wines to choose from - good beer ...it is not the cleanest restaurant I go here once every couple of months. The service is another high point. They are always friendly and you can get in seated and out within an hour. One of the more fun North Miami local joints.

Picked up food yesterday and I was so happy I did! I ordered 2 chaufa's one chicken and the other one beef and 2 orders of papa la huancaina. The food was amazing! I recommend getting the chicken chaufa... best I ever had

The Peruvian KItchen is the best. The waitresses are friendly and helpful. The prices are reasoble with such a great food. I tried other places and they are not the same. The place could be small but if you want good food. It is right here.

Food is great and fresh... made to order don't expect to have all the meals at the same time... but really tasty.

  • Brian L.

This place has a ton of local feel. The roast chicken is the real deal. Crunchy and seasoned skin with moist chicken underneath. This is a good value place as you get a lot of food for a moderate price.

    (4)
  • Jojo G.

The food here is excellent, however you will need to pay a hefty price for it that will leave you feeling dissatisfied. We ended up paying about $150 for four people and we did not order that much food. The waitress was also rude when she overcharged us "by accident" and we asked her to fix it. She also added her own tips and did not give us our change back for us to decide.

I found this place on the first day of my two weeks down here and it was so good that I ate here several times. First, the Peruvian chicken and rice soup was awesome. It hit the spot to soothe me during my fever. It had a flavorful broth with rice and a nice piece of chicken. I liked it so much that I came back and ordered a large To Go. For the $3 more, it was a great meal. Note, regular to go soup was smaller than eat in, so it appeared and for $3 more, the large was a great meal that I couldn't finish. It set the bar high that another Peruvian place later in the week couldn't compare. I could see that the soup was prepared every time, so I can only assume that it doesn't sit in a pot waiting to be dished out. Like that except that you'll have to wait for it to be heated and served. The chicken quarter was very flavorful. But I should have gotten the beans with the rice, since it needed it. Serves me for being healthy and opting for a salad instead. Another night I tried the steak, fried egg, rice, fries and plantain platter...and ate every last bite. The steak was well seasoned and my only regret was that the egg wasn't more runny. Definitely will return to try the many seafood dishes....

Modest place but excellent food! Generous portions (lomo saltado was enough for me n my 7 y/o). Customer service is really great, friendly. Owner Lila remembers your name. Their lunch specials are inexpensive and filling. This is not a "hip" place but food is great!

I have taken a long time to write a review for this restaurant but I love this place I am a regular here. If you are looking for authentic Peruvian cuisine in North Miami (I have tried most of the Peruvian restaurants in the area) this is it! My favorites include their ceviche mixto, lomo saltado, papa a la huancaina, chaufa, and of course their roasted chicken. The restaurant is very small only a couple of tables I always order to go. I love this place.

  • Gina H.

Still good. I'm laughing here because we ordered the exact same thing today as in my previous review. Gotta try something new next time (but who can pass up Lomo???). We came away with half of everything boxed up for lunch tomorrow. The french fries in the Lomo were smaller and therefore not as super duper as the first time I reviewed but the gravy is still good. $17 for lunch (each) is a little steep though so this is only a once in a while place, special treat.

  • Nelson R.

FOOD: Food tasted good. I had the mixed ceviche, excellent seasoning with plenty of lime juice and spiciness. Also enjoyed the saltado de pescado, tasted good too. Unfortunately, the portions in this place are minimal, they are about half of what you would get at competing Peruvian restaurants. Also, about half of the advertized desserts were not available. The bavarois was probably the best I've ever had. SERVICE: Fast and efficient. VALUE: Definetely expensive for the amount of food served. Free bread and hot sauce is not available like in other restaurants. ATMOSPHERE: Very small, the place sits approx. 25 persons. Good working ac. Very loud. The floor needed cleaning on the day I went.

The best Peruvian food you will find in Miami !! The end the place is small dont expect valet parking or sophisticated decor and lighting this is just good food ,,,this is the place Peruvians go when the want good food !!

    (5)
  • Mariana D.

I agree with the other reviews, the ceviche is the real deal. There is almost no difference with the best ones in Lima. The prices are very affordable for the amount of food. Their chaufa de mariscos has a lot of meat and is full of flavour. Also, the service is fast and there are no bad attitudes here. Try their yuca (I always do, everywhere because I love it) and ask for extra aji at no cost. Give it a try because it will go a long way for your money and you won't regret it.

  • C A.

Came here for lunch on a week day. I agree with previous reviewers. This is a small spot that you almost don't see when driving by. Good Peruvian food, though the prices are a little high. I made it in time for the lunch special today... but only barely. There was "one plate left" so I got it since the lunch special is the better lunch deal, whatever it is. Today was a curry chicken and a rice soup. Both had great flavor, but the soup was boiling hot and the curry chicken was luke warm from waiting for me to walk in the door. After that, there was no more lunch special, so it seems like it's first come first serve for that. The chicken dishes and lunch special are reasonably priced, most between $6 to $10, everything else was a little more, but I would think they would be worth it. It would be nice if they allowed you to choose a different 2 sides with the chicken besides rice, salad or french fries, but its still a good deal a very filling. The rice is the buttery deliciousness I expected which was good. Credit Card min is $20, but besides that, this a nice little spot... though most dishes are in the $$ range.

If you look for authentic peruvian food look no further. This place has excellent food. Service was a bit slow, but kind. Had a go with Chupe de pescado that was delicious and also the arroz chaufa vegetariano - was oh so tasty. Next time will try the ceviche and lomo saltado... Will surly come back, no doubt!

  • Al P.

Good selection of Peruvian food, especially the ceviche mixto and the jalea. The chaufa rice is really good and it's worth to try it.. Good service especially since the place is small and gets full easily. A good place to go when you're not looking for a fancy dinner.

This is the best chicken in the area. If you like roasted kitchen this is the place. Not only the service is great but the prices wont hurt your pockets. French fries to die, and chaufa rice out of this world. Is a nice alternative to all the chain places in the area ALSO THIS PLACE IS PET FRIENDLY OUTSIDE, so bring your dog!!!!

I must preface by saying I have only had Peruvian food a few times, and at that, In Los Angeles. But I know great freaking food when I taste it, and this place was awesome. it greatly exceeded my expectations. When I got back to LA i was so jealous that my friends an family were still going to The Peruvian Kitchen, that I searched for the best Peruvian in LA. It was much more expensive, very popular and well reviewed by both yelpers and Jonathan Gold (THE ethnic hole in the wall reviewer of record), and it couldn't hold a candle to this place. This was definitely the best ceviche I have ever had in my life. Now I pine away for it from across the country. Okay down to brass tacks: Got two ceviche's, the fish and the mixto, both just excellent. Got some dish called "fresh fish" not so descriptive, but look for it, it's a filet that is fried and in a sauce that seems to be made mostly from tomatoes and onions. Chicken Soup- awesome Some kind of shrimp in garlic sauce. just spectacular. This place is casual, authentic and cheap. That's right folks not reasonable, but cheap! I don't know why it has two $$ in the description, that is just not true. I cannot wait to come back to Miami and eat here again.

  • Andrea W.

Chicha morada: a Peruvian drink made from purple corn. So when I go to ethnic restaurants, I always order the typical drink from the country of origin, and I can usually tell what the rest of my experience will be like based on what I am served. My chicha morada came bottled... not fresh, as I would have wanted it to be. Being that it is their country's specialty. Now down to the food - we shared a lomo saltado, arroz chaufa with chicken and a ceviche with seafood. The hot stuff was great! Delicious chaufa and not greasy at all... The ceviche was OK, but I've definitely had better... just down the street actually at "Mi Peru" So if you're around the area and don't want to break the bank and just get an ethnic bite, check it out - you won't be disappointed. If you're looking for good Peruvian... try again next time!

It was the best culinary ive ever tasted. When i went there i had the Aguadito de pollo. THE BEST SOUP. The Chaufa. Peruvian Chinese is world famous. and i havent tasted anything better. and the grilled chicken is like no other in miami. im tired of eating chicken with no taste. this chicken in this restaurant is savory inside and out it leaves you chewing the bones. it WAS AMAZING.

First of all I am a total gringo and I'm not very big on Latin food BUT The Peruvian Kitchen rocks! The rotisserie chicken is crazy good, the tacu tacu chicken has become my personal favorite so I highly recommend that as well. I'm not a fish person but everyone swears on their cerviche so I'm pretty damn sure that's also good. The people are very nice and they have a nice low key atmosphere. I've been going there for a bit over a year and turned all my friends onto this place. Try it out and you will not be sorry.

    (5)
  • Gran L.

This is an excellent little place for a week night or take away. The tacu tacu is great. The rotisserie chicken is fantastic especially with the green spicy sauce. The "best" thing about the restaurant is the wine list. It consists 4 selections- red, white, and reserve white and reserve red. The reserve selections are only available sometimes (and have never been avail when we have been there!!!)

Went here last night the food was really good. My wife and I both enjoyed the food alot, I had the chicken it was very tender and flavourful. My wife had the fried rice which I didn't know they made in Peru. We both had indigenous drinks that were good, the service was ok, but overall great experience.

The place is very small, and it appears as if the locals love it being that it was quite busy. I give it a 3 star, though it probably deserves a 3.5. It may because of the food we selected. I had the Aguadito de pollo soup and it was really good. Chicken fried rice and the mixed seaf ceviche as main entree. I loved the corn served with the ceviche and the seafood tasted very fresh. My boyfriend thought the chicken fried rice could have used a side of duck sauce, but he's not much of ethnic food expert...) The waitress was very nice, so overall it was a good experience.

Main reason to come here was to try the seviche, which was great. The only thing was that the waiter never brought us water until we reminded him. Very small place like Gina said. The staff seems a lot nicer than the ones in Mi Peru, though! I might have to try their other dishes. :)

I tried this place 3 times with out any positive feedback. They always messed up my order, and were rude when I tried to correct them. There is a language barrier.

This place has a ton of local feel. The roast chicken is the real deal. Crunchy and seasoned skin with moist chicken underneath. This is a good value place as you get a lot of food for a moderate price.

Took my girlfriend the other night bc it is so close by. The food was excellent, service typical of miami. Worth it for the food, we had Lomo saltado & the ceviche de pescado, & picarones for dessert. We'll be going back in the future for sure, definitely worth a try.

A little hole in the wall that is so great and affordable , go here frequently and it is not upscale like other Peruvian places so if you feel lazy this is the place because it is just as good as the other places, the rotisserie chicken is so moist and seasoned and the fries are so fresh it is a very good hidden gem.

I ordered arroz con mariscos and ceviche for my office of about 50 people. Needless to say everyone loved it and had nothing but good things to say. The portions were great for the price and a large group (it was more than enough). I really enjoyed the service; nice, fast, and personable. Recommend!

  • G G.

Although this place doesn't look like much from the outside, the food here is amazing and the atmosphere is really nice. We weren't expecting much when we first came here and ended up being totally blown away. Final tip: try the pescado saltado, you won't regret it.

    (4)
  • Joe G.

Great food and great price with a good homey feel. Try the tallarines verdes with bread chicken and of course you can't go wrong with a lomo saltado. Very economically w/ good size portions and attentive service. Beats other mainstream Peruvian restaurants

  • Willy M.

Nice place, but food is hit and miss, some days food is fantastic and others is dry and flavorless, specially the Chaufa de Pollo. It's a shame because We found ourselves looking for other Peruvian restaurants in the area !!! Step up Peruvian Kitchen !!!

  • Cindy P.

After going out to eat with my foodie husband and his foodie best friend we found this place on yelp. The 3 of us shared fried rice, ceviche and jalea which is fried seafood. The portion sizes were generous and we all plan to return and send our family as well

The food was great, so tasty, delicious!! But the service was poor, we wait 45 minutes for a Jalea, Chaufa de Camarones and a Pescado a lo macho. We had to wait for everything, even for the check.

  • Bryan D.

Picked up food yesterday and I was so happy I did! I ordered 2 chaufa's one chicken and the other one beef and 2 orders of papa la huancaina. The food was amazing! I recommend getting the chicken chaufa... best I ever had

    (2)
  • Mariana D.

I agree with the other reviews, the ceviche is the real deal. There is almost no difference with the best ones in Lima. The prices are very affordable for the amount of food. Their chaufa de mariscos has a lot of meat and is full of flavour. Also, the service is fast and there are no bad attitudes here. Try their yuca (I always do, everywhere because I love it) and ask for extra aji at no cost. Give it a try because it will go a long way for your money and you won't regret it.

The best Peruvian food you will find in Miami !! The end the place is small dont expect valet parking or sophisticated decor and lighting this is just good food ,,,this is the place Peruvians go when the want good food !!

  • Paulina G.

I tried this place 3 times with out any positive feedback. They always messed up my order, and were rude when I tried to correct them. There is a language barrier. Followed the reviews to this place for an amazing ceviche and fried rice. Hole in the wall but worth checking out!

Loved the food and the very friendly service. Definitely would go back. We had the ceviche and chicken soup. The ceviche was so fresh and a nice size serving.

The food was great, so tasty, delicious!! But the service was poor, we wait 45 minutes for a Jalea, Chaufa de Camarones and a Pescado a lo macho. We had to wait for everything, even for the check.

Great food and great price with a good homey feel. Try the tallarines verdes with bread chicken and of course you can't go wrong with a lomo saltado. Very economically w/ good size portions and attentive service. Beats other mainstream Peruvian restaurants

If you want to eat as a local (transplant from South America) might for an authentic, delicious and reasonably priced meal, head straight to Peruvian Kitchen. You'll leave happy. And full.

I only had their rotisserie chicken, this place used to be my preferred spot for Peruvian chicken but now that granja opened up down the road I would rather go there.

Food is great and fresh... made to order don't expect to have all the meals at the same time... but really tasty.

This place has a ton of local feel. The roast chicken is the real deal. Crunchy and seasoned skin with moist chicken underneath. This is a good value place as you get a lot of food for a moderate price.

  • Melissa V.

Main reason to come here was to try the seviche, which was great. The only thing was that the waiter never brought us water until we reminded him. Very small place like Gina said. The staff seems a lot nicer than the ones in Mi Peru, though! I might have to try their other dishes. :)

  • Raj M.

I tried this place 3 times with out any positive feedback. They always messed up my order, and were rude when I tried to correct them. There is a language barrier. I am attempting my broken Spanish, I would expect the same from at least one of the servers? I would go to Mi Peru down the street instead.

i had a crazy craving for ceviche and came here since it is close to my house. the staff was nice and the service was quick. i had the ceviche mixto, spicy, which was very good and fresh. my hub had the lomo saltado which was also good. love their aji sauce!!!
